A trauma-informed approach is not a specific technique or modality, but a framework that shapes how counsellors and psychotherapists engage with all clients. It is based on the understanding that trauma can have lasting effects on emotional, physical, and relational well-being.
I believe we all carry some form of trauma or invisible wounds that have ocurred not necesseraly from acute events but also from moments in childhood, relationships, or systems injustice, where we felt unsafe, unheard, or powerless.

EFT is a structured, short-term approach to therapy, developed in the 1980s by Dr. Sue Johnson and Dr. Les Greenberg. It is grounded in attachment theory and focuses on how emotional bonds are created, maintained, and repaired in adult relationships.
The core belief is that humans are wired for connection and emotional safety.
When we feel disconnected or insecure in relationships, we often react in ways that push us further apart, even when we’re longing for closeness. This is because, from birth, humans have an innate need for emotional closeness and safety. The way caregivers respond to our needs creates an “attachment style”, which influences how we handle intimacy, trust, and conflict in adult relationships
EFT helps people identify the connection between the type of attachment developed in the early years and the negative patterns happening in relationships in adulthood and help rebuild
emotional balance, connection and trust.
